about

One of the two songs on the album (I will always say album because I grew up in the 70's and 80's) that has strings. The amazing thing is that the players were only between 12 and 13 years old! I think the lyrics are pretty obvious. They were inspired by watching one of the thousands of programs deifying the famous. An interesting point…the chorus's first chord is an "A major" but due to me not paying attention during the writing and recording of the strings, I missed that the arrangement became an "A minor". When I started editing and mixing, something sounded a little too Charles Ives for my taste. Laying an "A major" on top of an "A minor" wasn't my idea of where the chorus should go. So, with a little editing, the first chorus is the original, the second the minor version, and the third both of them back to back.

lyrics

Your so fame, your so flame
Your so familiar, walk the runway again
One in six billion they say

Your front page, your main stage
A rocket ship racing
And everyone's watching you
Speeding right out of the blue
All the rage

You're the word that's got the attention
You're the scene that's lit up like a billboard
Image is burned in your eyes
Attraction is bright in your eyes

You're the call at a crowded station
You're the heart of a whole generation
A shape in a limousine
A pose on a magazine
All the rage

And then there's you
And you would give
More than most would care or show or do
But no one applauds for you
All the rage
